The client is an online perfume retailer based in Manchester, England. They utilize the Royal Mail parcel tracking to sell luxury perfumes and cosmetics across the UK and globally. Their luxury designer perfume selection includes Paco Rabanne, Dolce & Gabbana, Jimmy Choo, Hugo Boss, Viktor & Rolf, Georgio Armani, Issey Miyake etc. Apart from this they also have a gift set section for women, and a wide range of skincare products from brands like Guinot, La Prairie, Rimmel, Clinique, Decleor, Elizabeth Arden and Clarins.
The client had acquired a high volume of images from perfume and cosmetic product photo shoots. The client wanted to remove a smudge (dark imprint) from most of the product images. Post this removal, they also wanted the images to be edited (retouching, color correction, background removal, transparent background) for their online sales catalogues.
The client had partnered with O2I for editing and design requirements, for well over two years. Based on this successful work relationship, they opted to partner with us for the new requirement as well.
On receiving the client's business enquiry, O2I perused the clients' need and performed an evaluation and Scope of Work assessment and a quality test (trial) was scheduled.
During the trial, the client transferred images to O2I via Dropbox. O2I assigned one full-time editing resource to edit 20 images using Photoshop CC.
We edited the images (retouching, clipping path, background removal, transparent, background) and uploaded via Dropbox in a PNG format. The trial was successfully completed within 24 hours.
Based on the success of the trial, the client signed a full-time ongoing contract to outsource 50 images per day to O2I. The client increased the number of images to 500 per day within three months. O2I allocated three full-time resources to handle the high volume of images.
